Food walking tour

ITINERARY
Meeting with the guide and departure from the Castle, symbol of the Estense family, whose blacksmith Cristoforo da Messisbugo gave life to the most famous recipes of the tradition. The tour begins with a taste of the typical dishes of Ferrara and delights such as "Zia Ferrarese" garlic salami, cicciolis and bread from Ferrara.
The second stop will be the Cathedral of San Giorgio built from 1135 and the wonderful Ducal Palace, symbol of the power of Este.
In the path through the medieval streets we will take you to discover our homemade pasta such as macaroni pie watered by a good glass of wine from Emilia Romagna.
Reaching the ancient Piazza delle Erbe, with the very particular loggia dei mercanti, we will complete the tour in Via delle Volte, famous for the many arches and suspended passages, where we will conclude the tasting with traditional sweets and a glass of Zabov, the typical liqueur produced in Ferrara based on alcohol and eggnog.
Possibility on request to conclude the tour in the headquarters of the "Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori", a non-profit association of public and private entities whose mission is to promote wine production, agri-food activities and food and wine specialties of the region. It will be possible to make a tasting with sommelier of three different wines of local production, accompanied by tasty appetizers.
