jewish ferrara
through the places of memory

The history of the Jews has been linked to the Este family since before 1400.
A weekend dedicated to the symbolic places: the Jewish ghetto and its synagogues; to famous people, such as the writer Giorgio Bassani, author of the famous novels "Il giardino dei Finzi Contini" and "Una notte del '43".
The ancient Jewish cemetery, known as the Garden of the Hebrews, a suggestive place where the lush vegetation embraces the tombstones almost to protect them.
The itinerary includes a visit to the Shoah Museum, to understand its origins and evolution and not to forget the sad pages of the Holocaust during the Second World War.
